Howdy,

One of the most irritating things I seem to get from people who send me their copy to critique is they always seem to have some other writer always put…

“Who else wants”….

Now I have to say, this only irritates me after looking at the psychology aspect of it…

Okay imagine your perfect prospect, you know the one who loves you, opens your emails, goes to your sales page with card in hand ready to buy….

Okay you got them in your minds eye???

BAM!!!!

Say goodbye to them bucko because if writing “Who else” copy was your way of targeting them, you have a better chance at picking them out of the silhouette in the picture above.

Here’s why it “may” work…

It makes it more general, kind of being aloof to your customers and making them think you have social proof…

Here’s why it will FAIL…

Because of the above reason, this isn’t targeted and hasn’t got the key component of a great sales letter… The personal touch.

Something I learned from Old Man, John “Frosty” Carlton, was this… “Here’s why” Copy kicks ass more times than you think…

Let me elaborate because it will make more sense…

“Here’s why” copy is more targeted and more driven. Imagine if you were in a crowd of people and I didn’t know any of you and you knew me from reputation alone… And all I said to this crowd was…

“WHO ELSE WANTS TO BUY MY CAT JUGGLING COURSE?” – Humour me for a moment. but I guarantee that I’ll get maybe 1 of the 100 people you’re standing with…

BUT if I said…

“Here’s How You Too Can Learn How To Cat Juggle Today…” – Again same product, but this will actually sell more because though it’s not as targeted as, “Hey Cat Jugglers”, it’s very driven for those that want to learn.

Now it’s not your fault if you’re using “Who else” copy, it’s actually down to you not knowing and seeing other sales letters because at a time, “Who else” did work… but those days are hopefully behind us.

So go out there and start using “Here’s How/Why” Copy today.
